Biography: Richard A. Swanson is professor and director of the Human Resource Development Center at the University of Minnesota and senior partner of Swanson & Associates, Incorporated. He earned his B.A. and M.A. degrees in industrial education from Trenton State College and his Ed.D., also is industrial education, from the University of Illinois.
During Swanson's twenty-five years of experience, he has consulted for several of the largest corporations in the United States in the areas of strategic human resource planning, personnel training, organization development, and quality improvement. He recently completed trips to Japan and Germany for the purpose of studying their quality improvement, organization development, and training practices. Swanson is currently doing research on education and training for organization, process, and individual performance improvement.
