Biography: Dana Gaines Robinson and James C. Robinson are, respectively, president and chairman of Partners in Change, Inc., a consulting company they founded in 1981. Each is a recognized leader in the areas of human resource development (HRD) and performance consulting.
Dana is a frequent speaker at national conferences . . . Dana has developed and utilized a process to measure the impact of a substantial number of performance interventions. Her clients include Steelcase, Royal Bank Financial Group and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Dana has a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master's degree in psychoeducational processes from Temple University, Philadelphia.
James is also a frequent speaker at major conferences . . . He began his career as a line manager with Agway, Inc. For several years he was vice president of DDI and is the primary architect of its successful training program, Interaction Management. Jim's clients include PNC Bank, Hutchinson Technology, Inc., and Petro-Canada. His undergraduate degree is from the University of Massachusetts. Jim has a master's degree in adult education from Syracuse University and a second master's degree from the University of Wisconsin.
Currently, the consulting practice of the Robinsons focuses on assisting HR and HRD departments in transitioning to a focus on performance improvement. Together they have written two books:
Traning for Impact published by Jossey-Bass in 1989, and
Performance Consulting: Moving Beyond Training, published by Berrett-Koehler in 1995. Widely acclaimed, this second book has sold more than 35,000 copies and was selected for the 1996 Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) Book Award.
